Regarding the minimum wage, it doesn’t appear to be a factor in jobs being shipped out of the country. Many of the jobs that can be outsourced already have been, while the minimum wage was much lower. What will cause more jobs to be outsourced are (a) advances in technology that will allow more work to be done offsite, and (b) the maintenance of tax incentives for businesses to do so.

The vast majority of the outsourced jobs have been those paying a higher wage, like a lot of the factory and goods manufacturing jobs. Most of the minimum wage jobs are service industry positions that require physical interaction with customers here in the US. If technology would allow burger flipping to be done in India, we’d see that as well.
